Troy Knoedler
Troy Knoedler of North Platte, died March 5, 2021, at Great Plains Health, surrounded by his family and devoted friend, Lorie Koertner.
Troy was born in Omaha and grew up in North Platte. In his later years, he traveled the country working as a construction foreman building distribution centers from coast to coast. He returned to North Platte in 2014 and worked at Morland Enterprises as a master plumber and pipefitter.
Troy was an avid outdoorsman. He grew up with a love of fishing, hunting and camping. He spent several years in Maine, enjoying all that Maine has to offer, devoting his free time to fishing on the ocean and going on whale-watching excursions. He loved visiting the historic military forts and shipyards. Troy loved seafood and was a regular at every lobster and crab shack. Troy never met an individual he didn’t call his friend. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Knoedler of North Platte; and niece, Brittany Nicole Svoboda of Lincoln. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Knoedler of North Platte; two sons, Chad Knoedler of Lemoyne and Derek Knoedler of Ogallala; sister, Janell Svoboda; nephew, Jared Svoboda; niece, Jordyn Svoboda of Lincoln; and grandson, Lee Knoedler.
A celebration of life for Troy was held on Saturday, March 20, at the House Bar, 1601 East 4th Street.
