Louis Eric Vieyra
LOUIS ERIC VIEYRA Born: February 28, 1965, at North Platte, Nebraska. Died November 5, 1999. Louis attended Madison Junior High School and graduated from North Platte Senior High School with the class of 1983. Louis played baseball, football, and wrestled throughout his school years, and participated at State wrestling competition in Lincoln. He also boxed golden gloves in Omaha for a few years and acquired many trophies. Louis loved all types of sports. After graduation, Louis moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended and graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics with a degree in Aeronautic Engineering. Subsequent to college, Louis moved to Wichita, Kansas, and became employed by Cessna Aircraft. Louis loved his job and was very proud of the awards he had acquired in his position at Cessna. It was while Louis was living in Wichita and working at Cessna that he died. Prior to his death, Louis continued to participate in sports and was on a baseball team every summer. The summer prior to his death, his parents, Fred and Julie, fondly remember him calling home one weekend to tell them that he had hit a home run and that the ball had gone so far up in the air that it hit and broke one of the lights on the light pole in the ballpark. Although Louis is no longer here, his parents treasure a gift left behind, a grandson, Tanner. Tanner is 6 years old and is "smart as a tack." Tanner also participates in little league ball, tae kwondo and swimming lessons. And like his dad, enjoys all types of sports. Tanner visits "Nana and Papa" in North Platte every summer where his joyful humor and cheer is enjoyed by his grandparents.
